Remembering a Former Prime Minister

Till now India has seen many prime Ministers because it is a Democracy but today is the Death Anniversary of Sh Rajiv Gandhi who was the 6th Prime Minister of India (1984-89). As Everyone is aware that Rajiv Gandhi was the son of Late Feroz Gandhi and Late Shmt.. Indira Gandhi (3rd Prime Minister). on 31st october when Indira Gandhi was shot dead by her bodyguards who wants to take revenge from here for the military attack on Harmander Sahib. President Gyani Zail singh who was the President of the Nation at that time asked Rajiv Gandhi to take oath as Prime Minister which was shocking to everyone because at that time whole India was aware of the Rivalry between President Gyani Zail singh and Rajiv Gandhi. According to Dr PC Alexander , Principal Secretary of Indira Gandhi met Mr Arun Nehru cousin of Rajiv Gandhi and Arun Nehru advised Dr Alexander that
"we should not wait for the president for thr oath taking ceremony we should request the honourable vice president Mr . R Venkatraman to call Mr Gandhi for oath taking ceremony". When Dr Alexander asked why there is so much hurry then Arun Nehru told him about the rivalry Between Gyani ji and Rajiv ji and he also said that Gyani ji will ask Pranab Mukherjee to take oath which Arun Nehru never wanted because of Political rivalry but Dr Alexander get's disagreed with Arun Nehru then he asked Rajiv Gandhi same question he replied "Lets wait for Mr President" after that oath taking ceremony started but at that Time Shmt. Sonia Gandhi his wife advised him not to take this position he can also get killed which she later accepted in one of her Interviews.

Later President Gyani Zail Singh wanted to sack him from PM post he gave offers to many politicians to become the Prime Minister R Venkatraman who was Vice President also wrote in his Book My Presidential Years that gyani ji gave me the offer of PM post which I refused and even he also gave this same offer to VP Singh, ND Tiwari and Arjun Singh.

Sikh Genocide 1984

After the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi the Various groups became angry became active and attacked Sikhs in India they murdered 2500 Sikhs this massacre went for 3 days and according to Book Memoirs of Gyani Zail Singh written by Gyani Zail Singh that he made several calls to Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to do something as Sikhs were murdered but he delayed he also gave a controversial statement that जब कोई बाड़ा पेड़ गिरता है तो धरती हिलती हैं which sparked a lot's of controversy.

Param 8000 and PCO Connections

It was the Tenure of Rajiv Gandhi where in 1988 his government established CDAC - Center for Development of Advance Computing which started it's first project to Make India's First Super Computer Param 8000 which was Inaugurated in the year 1992 means after 1 year of his assassination and according to Sam Pitroda a Buerocrat in Rajiv gandhi administration Rajiv Gandhi for his step to make Large PCO connections and Villages and Town's of India.

HDW & Bofors Case

These 2 cases were the reasons of the Dowmfal of Rajiv Gandhi in which Mr Vishwanath Pratap Singh (7th Prime Minister of India and Finance and Defence Minister in Rajiv Gandhi cabinet) alleged that some one has taken bribes of more than 56 crore rupees in the dealings of HDW Submarines and Before 155 MM Howazars Guns and not only he But Arun Singh, Md. Arif Khan and Arun Nehru also raised same question but no one alleged Rajiv Gandhi for that because they knew Mr Gandhi haven't took any bribe but they alleged that his government is not working actively then they all were expelled from the party and they campaigned against Congress and Rajiv Gandhi and in year 1989 Instead of being single largest party they sat in the Opposition because they had only 192 seats.
Although in 1999 Kargil War these guns helped India to kill Pakistani soldiers and gain territory back.

Economic Liberalisation

Everyone gives Credit of Economic Liberalisation to Mr PV Narsimha Rao (PM of India 1991-96) and Dr Manmohan Singh (PM of India 2004-14, Finance Minister in Narimha Rao Cabinet 1991 to 96) but some believe that it is in Rajiv Gandhi when the Blueprint of this was made when World Bank and IMF told Rajiv Gandhi about Upcoming Crises but before he initiated that he lost the Power and then after 2 years Narsimha Rao did his work but there is no evidence to prove this right.

Srilanka Issue

This was the main reason of the assassination of  Rajiv Gandhi in Srilanka Singla community who were the followers of Buddhist Religion were suppressing the Minorities of the nation especially Tamilians who were Hindus and The government of Srilanka did a dirty thing that they have taken the voting rights of Tamils back and they also taken down the Tamilains who were at the top or lower positions in Srilankan Government Jobs and in 1956 Singhla Language became the Official Language of the Nation which caused issuer of government jobs in front of tamilians who were not good in this language and there was a time a former Prime Minister of Srilanka Introduced the Quota System for the Singhlas to get the government jobs even if they have less marks and in 1972 the new constitution of Srilanka changed his name to Srilanka from Ceylon and they also Declared Buddhism as the Primary Religion of the Nation.  These Incidents made Tamils to fight against their nation and they became rebels and In 30th July 1987 Rajiv Gandhi Prime Minister of India and Mr. Jaywardhane President of Srilanka signed the peace accord in which the Srilankan Government agreed to give citizens rights to Tamilains and in exchange of that many Tamils Rebels surrendered themselves and on the request of Mr Jaywardhane Rajiv Gandhi sent Indian Armed Forces to Jaffana and other Tamilian regions for free and fair elections which was also a term in Accord but suddenly the things got Changed and India engaged in a Guirella war with LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealem) which was under the leadership of Vellupilai Prabhakan who was some years ago supported Rajiv Gandhi for this accord then suddenly he became his enemy and even some reports alleged that Ransinghe Premdasa who became President after the Resignation of Mr. Jaywardhane supported LTTE against Indian Army so that Indian Army forced to leave Srilanka and in year 1990 New PM VP Singh called army back from Srilanka. this Gurilla war 1200 Indian Soldiers and Hundred of Tamilians Both Militants and Innocents lost their Life.

In 1992 when again Lok Sabha election came Pre Polls was in Favour of Rajiv Gandhi and for him Tamil Issue was still his priority so LTTE was in the fear that if he came back then he will send his troops back in Jafna which will be dangerous for their existence so he sent some terrorist of his army to Tamil Nadu where on 21st May 1991 at 10:10 PM when a Human Bomb Dhanu went near Rajiv Gandhi and Pulled the Button of her Bomb and then a Blast Happened In which he lost his life
So the question is that what we all learned from his life his life as a Prime Minister was full of Ups and Down's now he is not there between us and these are some incidents which happened there were many more which cannot be discussed right now.
