Thoughts on Indo Pak Diplomacy

Today the diplomacy between India and Pakistan is going to very bad phase we are not ready to talk to each other and the reason for this dispute is Kashmir an Indian state who is half is Control of Republic of India and rest in the hands of Islamic Republic of Pakistan (Which is POK & Gilgit Baltistan) and People’s Republic of China (Which is Aksai Chin) and Islamic Republic of Pakistan and People’s Republic of China are great friends especially after 1962 Indo-China war and there is a consensus in India that we should not talk to Pakistan but we need to think that what our Former Prime Minister of India Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee has said on this issue according to Farooq Abdullah, Former Chief Minister of J&K State in one of their meetings Vajpayee sir told him that “ We can change friends but not neighbors either we can have friendship with them and have a prosperous life or we can have enmity with them and that will harm both”  so this statement by Him have some relevance which we all need to understand I know what people will say that talking with Pakistan will be the most stupid thing ever because whenever we have done that what we got only one thing backstabbing for example After Lahore Agreement in 1999 we got Kargil War which Pak 5^th Northern Light Infantry officers were involved under the orders of their Commander in Chief General Pervez Musharaf , after a Free trade agreement we got Mumbai Terror Attacks in which 10 Pakistani origin terrorist killed more than 160 Indian and Foreign people and the 4 main conspirators of this attack are Pakistani Nationals Including Hafiz Saeed and David Carmen Hadley (Dawood Gillani) , After PM Narender Modi visit to Pakistan in December, 25, 2015 an attack on Patthankot air base on 1^st January 2016 by terrorists of Pakistani Nationality and most of them were from Punjab in Pakistan  these all incidents has put a dent on the Indo Pak Diplomacy and there is a growing consensus that there should be no talks with Pakistan whatsoever and everyone knows that Pakistani Army and Government funds Pakistan supported militant groups which are active in the J&K who wants a civil or proxy war with India but the Politicians in J&K wants that there should be a dialogue b/w India and Pakistan for the betterment of Kashmir and it’s a hard fact that for betterment of Kashmir we have to talk to Pakistan and that was the diplomacy of Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee which everyone praises but there is a bad news too that Pakistan Foreign Ministry Advisor Mr. Sartaj Aziz Last year made a comment that there can be no betterment in Indo-Pak relations till Narender Modi is the Prime of India well I think his judging power is too high

The main thing is that there is a confusion too and that is who to talk because in our India there is a thinking that in Pakistan Army is more powerful than army because military coup happened in  Pakistan thrice first in 1958 by then in 1977 by General Zia Ul Haq then in 1999 by General Pervez Musharaf and that’s why military of Pakistan have impact on government decisions so some defense experts in India advice the government of India to talk with the Military not with Government but the question is what current government of Pakistan thinks because in 2013 when Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister, Islamic Republic of Pakistan has taken charge of the office he said that “People of Pakistan has given me vote they have chosen me to Improve our relations with India and to have great ties with them” but now situation is very much changed especially due to the regular meetings of Pakistani officials in India with the resistance camp leaders in Kashmir which are also known as Hurriyats whenever we talk about the Vajpayee sir diplomacy with Pakistan I remember in 1999 when he was in Lahore and he went to Nishan e Pakistan where declaration of Pakistan happened by the Muslim League pre independence at that place he said “ I as a Prime Minister of India on behalf of India wants to say to the people of Pakistan that we accept Pakistan as a nation” & further in his speech he also said that “ My Message to the people of Pakistan is very short and simple put aside the bitterness of past together let u have a new beginning ” which was a part of the Indo Pak Diplomacy which everyone praises whether it is Indian politicians of his and other parties, Resistance camp leaders like Yasin Malik, Pakistani Officials in fact Late Mufti Muhammad Saeed as the CM of J&K State has said on record that  “There is one way to solve Kashmir Issue and that is Vajpayee’s way”. In that same meeting he urged the Pakistan PM to declare LOC a International Border and this was not the first time when a Indian Prime Minister said this before that in 1972 in Simla talks Former Prime Minister Shmt.. Indira Gandhi gave this same proposal to Mr. Zulfekar ali Bhutto who was President of Pakistan and before that First Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru gave this same Proposal to First Prime Minister of Pakistan Liaqaut ali Khan So where this issue is heading it’s a mystery for all of us and I don’t know what will be our future but still I believe that time is not Far when we will solve all the issues with Pakistan because it’s a hard fact that we cannot change neighbors I am not saying that we will become friends but there is a feeling that we will art our ways and we never challenge each other.
