Everyone in India is aware of the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru that but today many people are active in India who wants to criticise him and for that they can cross any limit but some people have some shame they criticise him on valid issues like on his Kashmir policy, China policy and other issues but the question was who was Nehru
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the son of Freedom Figher and a great lawyer Pandit Motilal Nehru and just like his father pandit nehru was also Freedom Fighter, Writer, Barrister, columinst and also like his father he served the post of President of Indian National Congress he served the post of India's first Prime Minister for 17 years 1947-1964 and his term is full of appeaciations and criticisms some people judge him on great things which he did as Prime Minister like Establishment of Indian Institute of Technology, Inaugrating Bhakra Nangal Dam which helped the farmers of Panjab and other native states to good amount of water and electricity and for stopping floods, For his active role in drafting the Indian Constitution, for his role of supporting the Hindu Code Bill which helped the Hindu Women to live their life with full freedom. He is also Judged due to bad things which happened in His regime which Includes his demand to take Kashmir Issue in UNO, his continuous lethargic role towards China which led to India's Defeat in 1962 Sino-Indo War, His relations with Sardar Vallabhai Patel etc..
Today it is Important to talk about the 3 Myths which are very much popular about him
Myth 1: He was a Muslim
In the WhatsApp university there are n number of messages are been forwarded in which it was written that says that his grandfather Gangadhar Nehru original name was ghazi khan who ran away from kashmir and changed his name but the reality is that Pt Jawaharlal Nehru was the Descendent of Pandit Raj Kaul who was an active employee at Mughal Darbar during the regime of Emporer Alamgir Aurangzeb.
Myth 2 : Nehru's affair with Edwina Mountbatten
some years ago there was a right wing leader who said in a public rally that Pt Nehru and edwina were having an affair when they were at the colleges and in the same college Muhamad ali Jinnah was also studying I tnink that leader didn't aware about the year of there education in the year 1985 Jinnah completed his education in Law and Pt Nehru has completed his education in the year 1910 means 15 years later than Jinnah and as far as Edwina is Concern at that time she was only 9 years old because her date of Birth was 28/11/1901
He also said one more lie that Lord Mountbatten Married her before coming to India to make her a pawn of her game but the reality was that in the year 18/07/1922 means 25 years before than India's Partition and together they had 2 daughters Patrica and Pamela Mountbatten who later slammed those who were talking about there affair with facts and truth.
Myth 3 : Enimity with Sardar Vallabhai Patel
Sardar Patel was the Deputy PM and Home Minister in his Cabinet and many times they had clash of views on differnt issues like Kashmir, China and many others and that is why Sardar Patel Many times tried to resign from his cabinet but due to Mahatma Gandhi every time he withdrew his resignation but after the Assasination of Mahatma Gandhi they came together and there realtions got Improved some people also criticse nehru by saying that 13 out of 15 congress commitees supported Sardar Patel over Pt Nehru for the Post of Prime Minister but nehru forced him to take his name back but the reality was that Sardar Patel himself took his name back but it is the question that Sarsar Patel took his name back when he was having full support that is the big question there can be some politics for sure.
But the question is that if after Gandhi death they started a new friendship so what is the point of enmity between them they were associates of one party and worked together and even after the death of Mahatma Gandhi when everyone was asking for the Resignation of Sardar Patel Nehru was one of those who supported Patel and asked him not to resign.
Now let's talk about Kashmir and China
Some months Back Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that " Ki agar sardar patel hindustan ke pradhanmantri bante to kashmir poora hamara hota". History says that it was Sardar Patel who acceded Junagardh and Hyderabad in to India who wanted to accede with Pakistan and Nehru took Kashmir Issue in his own hands and against the advice of Sardar Patel he took the matter to the UNO and the result of that is in Kashmir issue is still there
Even on the Issue of China Nehru Ignored the advice of Sardar Patel which he wrote in his letter to Nehru in November 1950 just one month before his death in which he advised him not to believe Chinese as they are expansionist and they also have wye on northeastern states of India and the result of that India lost Aksai Chin in 1962 war. he also didn't listen to the leaders like Gobind Ballabh Panth, Acharya Kriplani & Many Buerocrats like Girja Shankar Vajpayee who was Secretary General of MEA.
Pandit Nehru also refused the Position of Fix membership of United Nations and gave chance to China who is now doing each and everything to stop India for becoming a Permanent Member of United Nations and it is a Valid Issue.
Now let's talk about Pandit Nehru and Sardar Bhagat Singh
Bhagat Singh: In May 1928 Bhagat Singh while he was in Jail wrote an Article in a Newspaper Kirti which was published in Holy city Amritsar in which he written that Pandit Nehru & Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose are both are talented and young leaders of the Congress and especially about Pandit Nehru he said that he is a man who has full of Revolutionary thoughts in his mind and therefore I request the Youth of Punjab to support them. Pandit Nehru gave an Interview to The Tribune and they published that on 5th July 1929 in which he praised bhagat singh,batukehwar dutt and there members of HSRA on His Hunger strike he also mentioned about the Professor Jatin Das who was also a member of HSRA (who later died due to Hunger strike) he said that his health was declining. There was a Magazine known as Abhiudoy Patrika in which he wrote an Article whose title was Tyagi Bhagat Singh in which he praised Bhagat Singh and paid him tribute but also at the same time he differed himself of his way to fight British.
Conclusion: Every Prime Minister has done some great things and blunders and Pandit Nehru is one of them and therfore if you want to praise him or blame him do that on the valid issues no one has a write to question his chracter and patritism but you can question his foreign policy you cannot criticise him for what he eats and drink but you can criticse him on his expenses like Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia did once you can praise him for his patriotism and also on his great social works but atleast you should see him as a human first before any political rival.
